Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to the Canyon Lake Passport mobile app (the "App") available on the Apple App Store — an independent project created, owned, and operated solely by Dillon Haffner. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association (POA); it's a resident-made guide to the community's own public amenities and calendar.

2. Information Collected

Information you provide directly

The App's optional "Moving?" tab lets you reach out to Dillon if you're thinking about buying or selling — it's entirely separate from using the rest of the App. Tapping a button there opens your phone's own Messages app with a note already typed in; the App itself doesn't collect, store, or transmit anything from that screen. Nothing sends until you personally review and tap send inside Messages, and whatever you choose to write or share happens directly between you and Dillon's phone, outside the App.

Nothing in this tab is required to use any other part of the App, and the App never asks for financial account numbers, a Social Security number, or similar sensitive identifiers.

Information collected automatically by the App

• Precise location — used only to confirm you're actually at an amenity (within roughly 150 meters) before unlocking that amenity's passport stamp, and to show nearby amenities on the map. Location is processed on your device and is never sold, transmitted off your device, or shared with third parties.
• Collected stamps and favorites — stored only in a local database on your device. This data is not synced to iCloud, not sent to any server Dillon Haffner or anyone else operates, and is never shared with anyone. Deleting the App deletes this data.

The App does not use the camera, does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not use cookies (native apps don't have browser cookies).

3. How Your Information Is Used

Information collected by the App is used to:

• Run the App's core features — showing nearby amenities and events, and confirming you're physically at an amenity before unlocking its passport stamp
• Nothing else — the App has no server component, so there's no backend use of your information beyond what happens on your own device

Your information isn't used to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you, and it isn't used for advertising.

4. How your information is shared

Your information isn't sold, and the App has no server to share it from. It's shared only in these limited circumstances:

• Messages / Phone — if you use the optional Moving? tab, the note you send goes directly through Apple's own Messages or Phone app to Dillon Haffner's business line, the same as texting or calling anyone else from your phone.
• Legal requirements — if required to comply with a subpoena, court order, or similar legal process.

No one outside of what's listed above has access to this data — it isn't shared with any other business Dillon Haffner is involved with.

5. Data retention

Collected stamps and favorites are kept only on your device for as long as you use the App. Deleting the App permanently removes this data — there is no server copy to also delete. A Moving? tab message you choose to send lives in your own Messages/Phone history, governed by Apple's own Messages and Phone apps, not by this App.

6. Your choices & rights

California residents

If you're a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, gives you the right to:

• Know what personal information has been collected about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — the App does not sell personal information
• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

Because the App stores everything locally on your own device and has no server, deleting the App is itself a complete deletion request. To ask a question about any of these rights, use the contact details in the Contact section below.

Everyone

Location access can be revoked at any time from your iPhone's Settings app for the App, without losing the ability to browse amenities, events, or view collected stamps you already found. Deleting the App removes its data from that device.

7. Children's privacy

The App is a neighborhood guide intended for Canyon Lake residents and visitors generally, not specifically directed at children, and personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 13.

8. Security

Reasonable steps are taken to protect App data, primarily by keeping it on-device rather than on a server that could be a target in the first place. That said, no method of data storage is 100% secure, and absolute security can't be guaranteed.

9. Third-party services used in the App

The App uses Apple MapKit to display amenities on the map and to show a 3D aerial view of each one. MapKit runs under Apple's own privacy policy. The App does not use CloudKit, does not use any camera or AR framework, and does not use any third-party form, email, or analytics service.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time as the App changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
